Fight Your Zombie Guide - How to Play & Strategies

Fight Your Zombie is one of the fastest-growing incremental simulators on Roblox right now — over 13 million visits in just one month. If you're jumping in for the first time, this guide covers everything from the basics to endgame prestige.

How Fight Your Zombie Works

The core loop is simple but addictive:

Grow Brains → Feed Zombie → Fight Zombie → Earn Coins → Upgrade → Repeat

You start with a small Brain Tank that produces basic brains. Grab those brains and feed them to your zombie — each brain gives your zombie XP and helps it level up. Then you equip a sword and fight your zombie to earn Coins and player XP. Spend those coins on upgrades, and the cycle continues.

The twist? Your zombie gets stronger every time you feed it, which means bigger rewards when you fight it. And your brains keep growing even when you're offline.

Getting Started (First 10 Minutes)

Here's the fastest way to get rolling:

  • Click the Brain Tank to start producing your first brain. You can click manually to speed it up.
  • Grab the brain and drag it to your zombie. Your zombie eats it and gains XP.
  • Equip your starter sword from the hotbar at the bottom of the screen.
  • Attack your zombie. Click fast — more hits means more coins. Your zombie will respawn after each defeat.
  • Save up 200 coins and buy Auto Tanks immediately. This is your #1 priority. Auto Tanks produce multiple brains at once without clicking.
  • Keep feeding and fighting. Upgrade your Brain Tank speed and brain level whenever you can afford it.

  • Don't waste coins on anything else until you have Auto Tanks. Trust us on this one.

    All Upgrades Explained

    Brain Tank

Your bread and butter. The Brain Tank produces brains that you feed to your zombie.

  • Production Speed: How fast brains grow. Upgrade this early and often.
  • Brain Level: Higher-level brains give your zombie more XP per feeding. Brains go from Level 1 (basic) up to Level 5+ (rainbow/prismatic). A Level 5 brain is worth way more than five Level 1 brains.

  • Auto Tanks (200 Coins)

Unlocks automated brain production — three brains growing at once instead of one. This is the single most important early purchase. Every second without Auto Tanks is wasted potential.

    Multiplier

Increases your coin earnings per zombie kill. This compounds fast. A few levels into the Multiplier and you'll notice a huge difference in income. Prioritize this after Auto Tanks.

    Swords

Your weapons for fighting zombies. Better swords = more damage = faster kills.

  • Starter Sword: Basic, gets the job done early
  • Tungsten Blade: Solid mid-game upgrade, slices much faster
  • Crate Swords: Open crates from the Store for random swords. Some are significantly better than anything you can buy directly.

  • OP Auto Clicker (149 Robux)

A gamepass that clicks for you automatically in the background. Not required, but a massive quality-of-life upgrade. You can fight zombies while the auto clicker produces brains simultaneously. Worth it if you plan to play long-term.

    Other Gamepasses

  • OP TOTEM: Free to claim, permanent effect
  • 2x Coins: Doubles all coin earnings
  • Super Sword: Double damage on all attacks

  • Zombie Evolution Stages

Your zombie evolves as you feed it more brains. Each evolution changes its appearance and increases the rewards you get from fighting it.

    StageAppearanceApprox. Coins per Kill
    Level 1Baby Zombie (small, green, crawling)~100-500 Level 2Larger Zombie~1,000-2,000 Level 3Even Larger, more detailed~3,700 Level 4Glowing Zombie (blue glow)~22,000 Level 5+Advanced forms~38,000+

The jump from Level 3 to Level 4 is massive — coins per kill go from 3,700 to 22,000. Focus on getting your zombie to Level 4 as fast as possible by feeding it the highest-level brains you can produce.

    Prestige & The Void

Once you've progressed far enough, you unlock the ability to Prestige. This resets your current progress (coins, upgrades, zombie level) but opens up The Void — an entirely new endgame area with fresh challenges and rewards.

Prestige is worth it. The Void content gives you access to things you can't get in the normal game. Think of it like New Game+ — you start over but with new possibilities.

When to Prestige: Don't rush it. Make sure you've maxed out your key upgrades and gotten your zombie to a high level first. The further you push before prestiging, the better your Void rewards.

    Other Systems

    Lucky Blocks

Random Lucky Blocks drop on the map periodically. Run over to grab them for bonus rewards. Keep an eye on the map — they disappear if you don't pick them up fast enough.

    Crates

Available in the Store. Spend coins to open crates for random swords. Some crate swords are the best weapons in the game. Worth saving up for once your core upgrades are solid.

    Friend Boost

Playing with friends gives you a percentage boost to earnings. The more friends in your server, the higher the boost. Invite people from the Discord server if you want to maximize this.

    Offline Earnings

Your brains keep growing while you're logged off. This means every time you come back, you'll have a stockpile of brains ready to feed your zombie. The game rewards consistent check-ins.

    Quick Strategy Summary

  • First 200 coins → Auto Tanks (non-negotiable)
  • Next priority → Multiplier (compounds your earnings)
  • Then → Brain Tank upgrades (speed + brain level)
  • Swords → upgrade when you can afford it without slowing down other upgrades
  • Feed highest-level brains to your zombie for maximum evolution speed
  • Check back regularly for offline brain accumulation
  • Prestige when you've hit a wall. The Void is worth it

  • FAQ

What is the best strategy for beginners?

Buy Auto Tanks (200 coins) first, then focus on the Multiplier upgrade. Feed your zombie the highest-level brains you can produce. Don't spread your coins across too many upgrades at once — focus on one thing at a time.

How does the prestige system work?

Prestige resets your progress (coins, upgrades, zombie level) but unlocks The Void — a new endgame area. Push as far as you can before prestiging for better rewards.

What is the Void in Fight Your Zombie?

The Void is the endgame content unlocked after your first Prestige. It contains new challenges and rewards not available in the normal game. Think of it as the next chapter.

    How do offline earnings work?

Your Brain Tanks keep producing brains while you're logged off. When you come back, all those brains are waiting for you to feed to your zombie. The higher your Brain Tank level, the more you accumulate offline.

What is the best sword in Fight Your Zombie?

The best swords come from Crates in the Store. The Tungsten Blade is a solid mid-game option you can buy directly. Beyond that, open crates and hope for a rare drop. The Super Sword gamepass also doubles your damage if you want a guaranteed boost.
